Explained

What is an indoor mobility chair?

An indoor mobility chair is a supportive chair on wheels that you can move using your feet while seated. You take small steps to move around, with the chair supporting you as you sit.

The frame leaves room for your legs, while the wheels allow the chair to move. This lets you use your legs to get around while remaining in an ergonomic sitting position.

Who it is for

Who can benefit from an indoor mobility chair?

An indoor mobility chair may suit people who have reduced leg strength but can still use their legs to move with appropriate support. A LeTriple may also be an option for people who have had a stroke or who have multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy or Parkinson’s disease.

An indoor mobility chair can also be used as a work chair for people with reduced mobility.

Discuss your individual needs with your doctor to find out whether an indoor mobility chair is suitable for you.

Questions about our LeTriple indoor mobility chairs? Find answers below.

Which indoor mobility chairs does Sowecare offer?

Sowecare offers three models: the LeTriple Basic, LeTriple and LeTriple Wheels.

The LeTriple Basic is our entry-level model. The LeTriple offers a wider range of options for adapting the chair to your needs. With its specially designed frame and extra-large wheels, the LeTriple Wheels combines the features of a manual wheelchair and an indoor mobility chair.

How do the indoor mobility chair models differ?

Sowecare offers three models: the LeTriple Basic, LeTriple and LeTriple Wheels.

The LeTriple Basic is our entry-level chair. It includes the essential features: electric height adjustment, a brake and fold-up armrests. As our most affordable model, it offers fewer options for individual adaptations.

The LeTriple has the same standard features: electric height adjustment, a brake and fold-up armrests. It also has a reinforced frame that supports a user weight of up to 135 kg. Its M-shaped base gives your legs more room to move. A wide range of configuration options allows the chair to be adapted to your individual needs.

The LeTriple Wheels combines a manual wheelchair with an indoor mobility chair. It includes the standard indoor mobility chair features, together with a specially designed frame and extra-large wheels. You can propel it using your feet or your hands. A wide range of configuration and adaptation options makes it suitable for more individual and complex requirements.

Who is an indoor mobility chair suitable for?

Our chairs are intended for people who retain some movement in their legs but need additional support to get around. This may include older people with reduced leg strength.

A LeTriple may also be an option for people who have had a stroke or who have multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy or Parkinson’s disease.

An indoor mobility chair can also provide support at work for people with reduced leg strength.

Discuss your individual needs with your doctor to find out whether an indoor mobility chair is suitable for you.

What safety features does an indoor mobility chair have?

Sowecare indoor mobility chairs have several safety features. A brake, operated using an easy-to-reach lever, helps keep the chair stationary during activities such as transfers.

The fold-up armrests give you more room to move. You can remain seated for different activities and fold the armrests out of the way when needed.

Electric height adjustment also helps with transfers and lets you adjust the seat for different activities. For example, raising the seat can make it easier to reach an item on a higher shelf.

What are the benefits of electric height adjustment?

Electric height adjustment offers greater flexibility in everyday life. It can help you reach higher cupboards or work surfaces while seated. The LeTriple has an electric height adjustment range of 30 cm.

You can also adjust the seat to a comfortable, ergonomic height for different activities.

Height adjustment can help with transfers, for example onto a higher bed, and can assist with standing up by bringing the seat to a suitable height.
